Gucci Mane blessed the world with his acclaimed album, Woptober, nearly three years ago to date. For his second 2019 album, Woptober II, Guwop returned on Friday, a release that has also held the title of Gucci’s 101st project since 2005. The native of Alabama dropped out of the album a handful of singles including his twerk-worthy song “Big Booty” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, “Richer Than Errybody” with NBA Youngboy and DaBaby, and “Tootsies” with Lil Baby.
The album hosts a variety of commendable features including Kodak Black, Quavo, Kevin Gates, Peewee Longway, Takeoff, Yung Mal, and OJ Da Juiceman appearances. While Evil Genius of last year and Grandeur’s Delusions of this summer were not as gritty and intimate as Gucci’s previous works, on Woptober II, the rapper returns to that essence just a bit.
“Two different people are the 21-year-old Gucci who raped, and the 25-year-old,” he told Complex. “And definitely different from the 39-year-old Gucci. I just grew up. Just evolved. Start learning stuff. Start adding to my skillset. When you’re young, you don’t really have a lot of skills to deal with a lot of issues. As I get older, I began to get more abilities and they helped me.” Let us know what tracks you think are excellent.
